The POC Skull Comp 2.0 is the ultimate race helmet, upgraded, for superior impact protection you wont find in any other helmet. The Skull Comp 2.0 is a multi-impact helmet designed to absorb crash energy from multiple impacts without deforming like regular helmets. POC found that modern ski racing is likely to expose an athlete’s helmet to repeated impacts from hitting gates at high speed or multiple hits in the same fall. So they changed the core material of the Skull Comp 2.0 to multi-impact Expanded Polypropylene (EPP). The difference is that EPP, unlike traditional helmet core material, does not deform permanently on impact and is therefore can absorb repetitive shocks.

To optimize the energy absorption properties, the POC Skull Comp 2.0 also has a honeycomb layer of pneumatic polyurethane inserted into the multi-impact EPP liner. All Comp 2.0 helmets also have POC’s newly developed shell – the Bone Shell. This is a super-thin injection molded shell made of POC’s patented and extremely durable Aramid membrane penetration barrier APB which is designed to desconstruct on heavy impact for increased shock absorption, similar to the way any modern car body manages crash energy.
